Misconception #1:  Pre-Sold Tickets
There is no such thing as being able to pre-purchase a ticket to the Walton vs Wheeler basketball game. Fans are admitted on a first come-first served basis. Cash at the [...]

Kennesaw Mountain slips past Walton

Walton’s Lady Raiders traveled to Kennesaw Mountain without the boys’ team on Saturday afternoon. The girl’s could have used the support as they came up short during this mid-afternoon non-region game. The Mustangs jumped on Walton early, creating an 8 point lead after just the first quarter. Try as they may, the Lady Raiders couldn’t [...]

Both Walton Girls and Boys Win vs Alpharetta

Walton High School traveled up Georgia 400 into North Fulton to play Alpharetta High School on Tuesday night. The cold bus ride home was well worth the trip and both the boys and girls teams returned to Walton with wins.
The girls played a back-and-forth game all four quarters and pulled away in the end with [...]

Lady Raiders End Season with Loss to Milton

Walton’s Lady Raiders ended their season 13-13 with a disappointing loss to Milton, during the first round of the Region Tourney.  After leading most of the game, the Raiders shot themselves in the foot with continuous turnovers which really started mounting immediately after halftime.  Walton lead 10-8 at the end of the first quarter and [...]

Walton Girls Lose to Wheeler Wildcats

The Lady Raiders couldn’t mount a defense to Wheeler’s C.J. Jackson and Jasmine Stewart, as they combined for 29 points, leading the Lady Wildcats to avenge a 57-45 loss back on January 24th.  Walton began the game cold as ice and got behind 13-2 by the end of the first quarter. During the second quarter, [...]

Campbell Lady Spartans cruise by Lady Raiders

Walton met Campbell for the second time in a week and the results were the same but the Lady Raiders played a much more respectable game this time around.
Quarter—–1st-2nd-3rd-4th
Walton——11 – 21 – 33 – 43
Campbell—10 – 23 – 40 – 64
The Raiders stayed close during the first half, leading 11-10 at the end of the [...]

Lady Raiders embarrassed by Campbell

Four Campbell players scored double figures. No Lady Raider scored more than six points. The Lady Spartans almost had more rebounds than Walton had points. Although Campbell’s quickness was overwhelming Walton early, the Raiders did look as though their press-breaking ability has improved since the start of the season. Campbell’s zone defense prevented Walton from [...]

Lady Raiders methodically beat Wheeler

After Wheeler’s coach Nathan Stark deliberately continued his press on Walton’s girls and ran up the score two years ago, it was refreshing to see the Lady Raiders win at Wheeler with style and class. Walton played a consistent game with three players in double figures: Bria Bourgeois continued her tear nailing 21 points; Sarah [...]

Lady Raiders outlast Pope

Walton kept a slim margin throughout most of the game and every time Pope began to surge, the Raiders would respond. Bria Bourgeois had another good game, scoring 19 points. Sarah Durdaller was the only other Raider in double figures with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Walton’s record now stands at 10-9 with the first [...]

Lithonia’s Speed Too much for Lady Raiders

Lithonia came to Walton’s Pit for an early Saturday afternoon game with only nine players dressed out.  Even though Walton out manned the Lady Bulldogs, Lithonia made up for their lack of numbers with the quickness of the girls that were put on the floor.  With the exception of the third quarter, Walton played pretty [...]

Varsity Girls vs Harrison – No Video Allowed by Principal

The game is at Harrison, beginning at 6:00 pm EST. Unfortunately, the principal at Harrison has dissallowed Walton from “streaming” the game to the Walton families that are out of town and can’t be at the game. It seems there are several issues that are of critical concern to him.
